LA Girl is an affordable makeup brand I recently heard of, so I decided to test out some goodies! I’ve had these products for a while now, so I think I have a pretty good idea if they’re worth the purchase or not.
First up, I got three different liquid lipsticks. I’m pretty sure they were around $5 each (!!!) and they had a ton of different shades.
The first shade is Fantasy. Now I’m going to be blunt here: this shade is trash. It applied really unevenly, didn’t have great pigmentation, and died out my lips SO MUCH. Once it dried down to a matte finish, it would not come off. I had to use an oil and drench my lips in it. I don’t know what the deal was with this particular lipstick, maybe I just got a bad one, because I had none of the same problems with the other two shades.
The last shade I got was Rebel and this one is my favorite! Really really great color, pigmentation, longevity. Definitely worth the buy.
Next up I got two palettes, one face palette and one eyeshadow palette.
Here are the swatches of the eye palette. Now, I’m pretty sure this was around $8. I don’t really know what to say. It’s not great, it’s not bad. You get three matte shades in here and the rest are shimmer. The matte shades are really not the best, but the shimmer shades are pretty dang good.
This is the face palette in Spice. It was also $8 and this is for sure something I would recommend checking out. You get a matte blush, a slightly shimmery blush (but it’s more like a sheen, not glitter) a matte bronzer (perfect) and a champagne highlighter. Seriously so good I use this palette all the time!
Last but not least, the concealer. It’s good guys. Really good. High coverage, won’t crease under the eyes, long lasting. The shade range is HUGE and they’re only around $4 each!! Seriously. You need this.
The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the applicator for this product. It’s kind of like a brush and when you squeeze the tube the product comes out. It’s not great, not bad either, but the product inside makes up for it!
