Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lips + Haul

Hello my lovelies! Metallic lips are super hot right now, thanks to Kylie Jenner, so I thought I would see what the trend is all about! Swatches and full reviews included.

I ordered a couple things from Colourpop over the 4th of July holiday, and they only just arrived. In addition to the Ultra Metallic Lips, I ordered another Ultra Matte Lipstick and two Super Shock Shadows (my personal fav product from the brand). But lets start with the Metallic Lips, shall we?

This is the first time I’ve ever had drama with a Colourpop order before. Not only did one of my shadows arrive broken, but the Metallic Liquid Lipsticks were also in rough shape.

As you can see in the photos, the tubes look like they are legit empty. I swirled the want around inside and all the product scraped right off the sides of the tube. I contacted customer service and they assured me that the tubes are filled to net weight.

I don’t know if they changed the applicator for this formula, but I’m not loving them. They’re just too fluffy for me, a bit more difficult to apply.

The shadow being broken really isn’t Colourpop’s fault, I’m just sort of upset that after waiting over two weeks for these products to arrive, most of them were in bad condition.

I have contacted customer service about getting replacements and they have sent out a replacement for the shadow. I don’t blame the brand, I’m just a little thrown off by the situation.

Anyways, onto the swatches!

Ultra Matte Lip in Trap

Super Shock Shadow in DGAF + I Heart This

God I love these shadows. DGAF is almost a duochrome, it has a bit of a greeny gold reflect, but it’s so beautiful!!

Ultra Metallic Lip in Man EaterIMG_3988

Ultra Metallic Lip in KweenIMG_8442

So I like the metallic lips. But they are hella metallic. Like glitter. Really pretty, but intense metallic. The formula is more like the Ultra Satin Lips, because they don’t dry down all the way and will transfer, but they also stay in place and wear for a long time. The pigmentation is really good, just the actual application is tricky. All in all, I like them, but won’t order more just because I have no idea if I’m actually going to wear them out.

I hope you all enjoyed! Please follow me for more new beauty and lifestyle posts!

I love you all so much!

Sephora & Ulta Haul: NARS, ABH & More!

I spent too much money on makeup. Here’s the hot new sh*t that I bought.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette

This palette was almost the death of me. I stopped at Ulta first to pick up some drugstore makeup, and they were completely sold out of this palette. It’s sold out online too, so I was freaking out a little bit because I really wanted it. (I mean, just look at those shades) So then I went to Sephora, they were sold out, so I drove to a different Sephora and got the last one they had.

The powders are just amazing. The pigmentation is so intense, buttery, easy to blend.

Urban Decay x Gwen Stephani Eye Palette

I’ve had my eye on this sucker for a while. There is a great variety of warm, cool, and colorful shades, so it is so versatile! Plus, I got it on sale for $25!! The shadows are amazing as Urban Decay shadows always are.

NARS Laguna & Orgasm Duo

This is the first NARS product I have ever bought for myself. I’ve gotten two lipsticks as gifts from family in the past, and I just love the brand, so I went for it. I needed a new bronzer anyways, so I thought I test out laguna because it is so highly raved about. The swatches are not great, but I like that for face products because I don’t necessarily want a super highly pigmented blush or bronzer. It’s easy to go overboard, but with these it’s easy to get a beautiful soft look, or build it up for a more dramatic look.

Essence Make Me Brow in Blondy Brows

I heard that this is a dupe for the Benefit Gimmie Brow so of course I had to pick it up (I need them brows fleeked) and it was under THREE DOLLARS!! I mean come on. Yes. It works beautifully, keeps my brow hairs in place all day and gives them a fuller look. Definitely a dupe.

Marc Jacobs Lip Creme in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Highliner Gel Crayon in Blacquer

This was my birthday gift from Sephora. I think the lipstick is okay, you guys know I prefer a matt liquid lipstick, but the shade is pretty. The eyeliner is actually BOMB, it’s like a gel in a pencil form, and it lasts forever. I swatched it on my hand and the next day, after showering, it was still there.

Tony Moly Masks

I picked up a few sheet masks from Tony Moly (but I already used one the night I got it and threw away the packaging! I’m pretty sure it was a collagen mask though). I have been super into sheet masks and these are so cute and super affordable. My skin just feel so amazing after I use them.

F&B Bath Fizzys

I picked up these two bath bombs because they smelled soooooo good. I used the blue one last night and it was a bubbly dream. They have oils in they as well, and my skin felt incredibly soft and moisturized after I got out.

NYX Glitters in Rose & Crystal

I see glitter eye looks all over the internet and I needed to try it. I also thought these would be great for doing prom makeup on clients. They are amazing! They come with a sifter, and the glitters are finely milled and easy to pack on all over the lid with a little bit of glitter adhesive.

I also picked up a Tony Moly Foot mask, but of course forgot to take a picture of it before I used it. It’s meant to make all the dead skin on your feet peel off three to four days after using it. I’m currently waiting for that to happen, because hey, I want sexy, smooth feet for the summer. Yaas. I also got some samples from sephora and ulta, I got the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation (which I think is way too matt for my dry skin, when I applied it, it really clung to all the dry patches on my face. Bummer) and some Urban Decay lipstick samples.

I hope you enjoyed seeing all the things I bought! Full reviews on each will be coming soon, so please follow me if you are interested in seeing those!

I love you all, thank you so much for taking the time to read!

New Estee Edit

Exciting things are happening in the world of makeup! Estee Lauder has launched a new campaign called Estee Edit, which is targeted towards younger makeup lovers. Today I have full reviews on four of their new products.

Disclaimer: I was sent these products for testing purposes, but all opinions are 100% my own. I am not being paid or anything like that for making this post 🙂

Can we just take a moment please? Girl, Estee did not disappoint on the packaging of these products. The boxes are all white with cobalt blue splat accents, and it speaks to my soul. The products themselves are all silver, with some white accents (perfect for displaying on my vanity because they match my aesthetic).

So packaging, 10 outta 10, my girl Estee knocked it out of the park!

Beam Team Hydrate + Glow

I’m honestly a bit confused by this product. I think it’s meant to be a hydrating, luminous primer, but it also says on the box that you can wear it without any other makeup, or mix it into your other face products. It comes in a squeeze tube, and in the lid there is a cream highlighter to intensify the glow. The product is a bronze shade, which I like. Even though I am pale as a baby, it doesn’t look like I bathed in bronzer, it just gives the skin a healthy, moisturized glow. All in all, I really like wearing this on no makeup days and under my foundation. It is hydrating but not oily, which I appreciate for day time. On the other hand, the cream highlighter in the lid is okay, but not the best shade for my personal skin tone. It’s a bit too bronzy for me, but if I had a tan I’m sure I would really like it.

Solid 9 outta 10, way to go Estee Lauder. I’m impressed so far.

Flash Illuminator

Girl. A few weeks ago I did a review on the Hard Candy Illuminate & Strobing Drops, and this is that product on stereoroids. It is a liquid illuminator, but a bit thicker, more like a cream. It comes with a pump (thank the lord) and the packaging kills me. It’s so beautiful, not glittery whatsoever, but so glowy and reflective. I mixed it in with my foundation, used it as a primer, and applied it as a highlighter. I love how versatile it is, just really an all around great product. However, if you are blessed with a more chocolate complexion, this may be too stark on you (unless that’s what you’re looking for, then go for it girl, you do you) because it is white. But if you are light to medium, yaas girl.

100 outta 10. Yaas. I die.

Pore Vanishing Stick

I’ve tried this three times now, so I think I have good opinion on it. Let me say first though, that I don’t really have large pores. My main issue is skin texture, like hyper pigmentation, redness, and little bumps. So I can’t really tell you if this will actually fill in your pores. But, I can tell you that this makes your foundation glide on sooooo incredibly smoothly. It goes on clear (hence the reason I didn’t bother swatching it for you guys), and makes application tons easier.

I can’t give this an accurate rating because I can’t tell you if the product actually does what it says it will.

The Barest Lip Color shade 05 In The Buff

I love the packaging on the lipstick. I don’t know if you can tell in the picture, but the silver tube has a white wash on the top, it’s so chic and modern, I die guys. The formula is super moisturizing, and a bit more sheer than a traditional lipstick, but I personally prefer that. It gives the most gorgeous brown tint to the lips, while hydrating at the same time! Oh and by the way, all of these products kind of smell like grapefruit… I don’t know if they’re supposed too, but it’s a really subtle scent, so I don’t mind it at all.

8 outta 10, super nice for a natural or dramatic makeup look!

So guys, I hope you enjoyed this review! I think that this line as a whole is pretty popping, definitely worth checking out! I will probably order some different shades of the lipstick because I like the formula of it a lot.

As always, please follow me for more exciting things! I love you all, you guys honestly mean so much to me, and getting your comments and support is so encouraging!

Illuminate & Strobing Drops

Summer weather calls for dewy, glowing skin! Hard Candy has come out with these beautiful Illuminate & Strobing Drops which are perfect for a highlighted hot weather look!

I picked this baby up three days ago at Walmart for $8.00. The packaging says that you can mix them in with other products, like your foundation or primer, or you can use them by themselves as a liquid highlighter.

I think this product is really high quality! The bottle itself is heavy glass, with a dropper applicator. The dropper is plastic, but I think it looks really nice with the metallic pink logo. The dropper works well, you just push the button on the top to suck up and drop out the highlighter. It’s really elegant and goes with my aesthetic, so I’ve been displaying in on top of my vanity.

So this is obviously a straight up liquid highlighter. It has a really nice subtle pink reflect to it, but no big chunks of glitter or anything like that. I have tried it mixed in with my primer, foundation, and by itself on top of my cheek bones. I think I like it the most mixed in with my actual foundation, just because it just gives the most gorgeous lit from within look. I also like using it as a base for my Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter that I am in love with. It gives the skin a wet look, and I totally appreciate that there isn’t any glitter in it!!!

Overall, if you like dewy skin, you need this. For $8, it’s a really good deal, and you only need the tiniest bit of it! This is a hidden gem at the drugstore, and lets face it, not all of us (me)  can afford to go out and buy a $45 liquid highlighter (ahem, Becca Liquid Highlighters…).

I hope you enjoyed this review! Make sure to follow me for more news on my upcoming giveaway! I have a few products picked out for it already, but I haven’t decided when I should do it. Maybe at 250 followers? 500? Let me know what you think I should do, and just remember I love you all!

Stay Beautiful

DIY Marble Desk

I love marble. Marble everything, please. So I decided to marble my desk top! It turned out beautifully, I am in love with how it turned out. Here’s how I did it.

marble desk 2.JPG

Personally, I don’t have a couple hundred dollars to buy a real marble slab. Instead, I hopped on the internet and ordered two rolls of marble contact paper. It was about $7 a roll on

  • one or two rolls of marble contact paper (depending on the size of your desk top)
  • a ruler (to smooth out any air bubbles)
  • a friend to help with application (optional, but recommended)

The application of this was super simple; all I did was peel back a bit of the backing on the contact paper and smoothed the marble onto my desk. Pro Tip: work in small sections and be patient!

I made sure to leave extra paper on all the edges so I could wrap around them for a realistic look. To do this I cut a triangle into the edge portions and wrapped one side at a time, being sure to get rid of all the air bubbles.

And that’s it! It turned out amazing and was so easy to do! I also covered my dresser top because I loved it so much haha.

Make sure to follow me for more!! I hope this helped you out a bit or at least inspired you to change up your own space!

Eyelash Extensions: My Experience and FAQ

Hello beautiful people! Recently, I’ve been hearing more and more about people getting lash extensions. Of course after seeing tons of beautiful results, I decided to get them done myself!

If you haven’t heard of eyelash extensions before, it’s basically when individual eyelashes (or clusters of lashes) are glued to one of your natural eyelashes. The glue they use is different than normal strip lash adhesive; it doesn’t come off. Well, it comes off, but not until it’s removed with a special remover lol.

My Experience

So, I have average lashes. They are decently long I guess, but super straight and also sparse. I was looking mostly for more volume and thickness. Sooooo, I opted for the lash clusters.

The actual application process took about an hour and a half for my full set.

I had my extensions on for about a week and a half before they started shedding a tiny bit. At the 12 day mark, I started having some mild discomfort. It was kind of a pinching feeling at the base of my real lashes. It was super annoying so I went in and had them removed. I’m not a sensitive person, but I was just fed up with them honestly. I think what happened was that as my actual lashes started to grow out, the glue like made them stick together, making them uneven.

Did it hurt?

No, eyelash extensions should not hurt!!! It’s actually quite relaxing while getting them applied, but like I said above, I did have some slight discomfort as they grew out. I think the girl might have applied them incorrectly honestly.

Does it damage your natural lashes?

I’ve seen mixed answers to this. It doesn’t directly damage them, but some people do experience a bit of lash fallout. I have noticed that now my lashes are super short, but that could be because I was used to them looking long while I had on the extensions.

How much does it cost?

Higher cost doesn’t always mean higher quality, but at the same time, better to be safe than sorry. They range from around $60 to $200, depending on what you want done.

Yeah, so they are high maintenance. You need to brush them daily to ensure they don’t tangle. Getting them wet for the first 48 hours is a big no-no. AND NO MASCARA! When you remove the mascara, it is more likely for you to tear out the eyelashes or break down the glue. It’s also important not to get any oil around them. Oh, and don’t sleep on your stomach (like me) because they will get all kinds of messed up.

All in all, for me, I wouldn’t do it again. It’s just too high maintenance. I don’t have time for constant infills, or the patience to not get them wet when I shower and wash my face everyday. They looked amazing, don’t get me wrong, but I would rather just take the extra 2 minutes to put on some mascara.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit: Gleam

I am so happy I finally picked this up! Glowy, highlighted skin is so beautiful for the warmer summer months, and I’m in love. Keep reading for my full review and swatches!

This palette is amazing quality. The powders are soo soft and highly, highly pigmented. This cost me $40 US, which honestly isn’t that bad. If you think about the amount of product you are getting, it’s a good deal.

May 2016 IPSY Bag

Hello everyone! Sorry it’s been so long, but finals have been killing me. I think that I will be back to posting more now. Any who, here is my May Ipsy haul!

28 Remedy Deep Cleanser

This was kind of a dud for me. I have my skin care routine down to a science, using only all natural products. I don’t use anything with chemicals or acne medicine, so unfortunately I won’t be trying this. But I guess it’d be a good product to get if I had bad acne.

Contour Brush

I can’t read the brand name on this brush haha so don’t be mad. But this is my favorite thing from this month! I’ve been using it for a few days and it’s amazing! So much better for contouring than the NARS Ita brush (check out my review here). It’s super cute too. I love the rhinestones.

Jersey Shore Spa Hydrating Balm

This is amazing. Please, if you have chronically dry lips, go buy this. Just do it. I don’t even know how much it costs, but you need it. It’s like an oil but it just absorbs so fast and doesn’t leave a waxy residue like most lip balms. IMG_0933

Bellapierre Gel Lip Liner

I’ve never tried a lip liner like this before. It has the weirdest formula, not in a bad way though. It honestly is like a gel. It applies smoothly but dries to almost a matte finish, like a liquid lipstick does. It barely transfers and doesn’t smudge at all. IMG_0932

Smashbox X Rated Mascara

I’m conflicted about how I feel about getting mascara samples in my Ipsy. Like, I love mascara, but I just feel like there almost is no point because I go through them so fast. But ignoring that, this mascara is the bomb. It’s more volumizing than thickening, but somehow gives length and volume at the same time. It really separates and defines the lashes. I’m a big fan of the brush as well.

That’s it for today! Let me know what you got in your Ipsy this month and don’t forget to follow me for exciting things! Big news coming soon… Can you guess what it is?

FAIL Makeup Products

Hello my lovelies! I’m sorry I haven’t been posting as much, I just haven’t been feeling very well. But today I just wanted to talk about some makeup that just didn’t work out for me. That being said, I still love all of these brands and I’m not trying to trash them in any way. Only these specific products were a major fail in my book!

Hard Candy Color Correcting Primer

I seriously wanted this to work sooooo badly, but it was just terrible. I don’t even know how to explain it. But this primer kind of balls up when I rub it into my skin, almost like it’s just rubbing off. I don’t know what’s up with that. It also did nothing to mute any of my redness. Really disappointing.

Hard Candy Naturally Gorgeous Eyeshadow Palette

I didn’t know if I should include this or not because it’s not the actual product that’s bad. The eyeshadows are actually really good and super pigmented. The only thing that just bugged me was that I don’t think there is a good variety of colors. A lot of the shades are similar and there’re all extremely sparkly. I’m not the type of person to only use shimmer shadows, I need some good mattes to make everything come together. And the purpose of a palette is to have everything you need right in one product, so I don’t like having to grab for other products when I want to use this.

Crown Brush Duofibre Brush

This honestly is the worst. The bristles are so rough it honestly hurts my face when I use it. They are not soft, it makes everything look patchy, and doesn’t pick up enough product. Definitely would not recommend.

ELF 3 in 1 Mascara

I bought this because I thought the brush looked similar to the They’re Real one, and it does, but the product is nothing like it. It kind of just doesn’t dry. Like I’ll apply this and then 10 minutes later my lashes will be all stuck together. It’s just too wet of a formula for me.

treStique Matte Lip Crayon in Nantucket Nude

I’m sad about this because the color is really pretty. But the formula of this is just so dry that it’s hard to apply. I can deal with dryness in like a liquid lipstick, but not this. It kind of feels like rubbing an actual crayon on your lips.

Jordan Cat Eyes Liquid Liner in Brown

Love Jordana, love their eyeliners. This product is super nicely pigmented and applies amazingly, but doesn’t last. It will go a bit cracky on my lash line and the wing will flake off. Maybe I just got a dud, but still.

That’s it for today! I hope you enjoyed and don’t forget to follow for new posts and info on my upcoming giveaway! I will be announcing it soon!

Guys. For real, these new Wet n Wild brushes are no joke. I picked these up a couple of days ago and cannot put them down. They are so stinking soft and fluffy!

(From left to right: large concealer brush, medium shadow brush, small shadow brush, and the last two are contour brushes)

In all honesty, I actually found these brushes at my local dollar store. So I got them for ONE DOLLAR. So if you are in the market, definitely hit up the dollar store and see if they have any. If they don’t, no big deal, because full price these babies are still only a few dollars. Like, all under five.

The bristles are just fantastic. Ignore the fact that mine are dirty because I have been using them, but the fade from pink to white. They are super fluffy and great at blending. They pick up just the right amount of product. I use the bigger brushes for basically everything; powder, bronzer, blush.

The shape of the handle is handy on the eye brushes. There is a little divot towards the bristles for easy handling. These brushes are great for packing on color all over the lid, and work amazingly well with colourpop shadows.

Overall, these are the best brushes from the drugstore that I’ve ever used, as well as some of the most affordable. So definitely grab these if you are looking for some new brushes!
